Royal Gala apple is a mutation of the Gala apple that was selected for its darker red skin color. The Gala originated in New Zealand in the early 20th century from a cross of ‘Golden Delicious’ + ‘Kidd’s Orange’. The Royal Gala apple is dense, sweet, aromatic and juicy. Its flesh is white and creamy with a sweet taste.
